The Fischer Building in Phillipburg was built as a business management complex for the Kansas/Nebraska (KN) gas company. With the relocation of KN’s headquarters in 1995, the complex owner gave the building to the city of Phillipsburg. The city in turn gave the property over to Phillips County Economic Development, Inc (PCED). PCED, Inc was a non-profit economic development business, which used the facility as a business incubator for recruitment of businesses moving into the area and entrepreneurial businesses that were created by local and regional individuals. In the Spring of 2006, the PCED disbanded and gave the Fischer Building to the Phillips County Community Foundation (PCCF) along with additional property rights for future economic growth in Phillips County.
